I’m not normally one who goes for the idea of eulogies on the internet, but I feel like this one is important.
Steve Jobs passed away earlier today, October 5th, 2011. He is one of those rare people that most everyone looked up to in someway, whether they admitted it or not. Personally, I saw him as a fantastic inspiration, and a brilliant leader. For a number of years I wanted to work for Apple, and one of my main reasons behind that was Steve Jobs. There was just something about him, something that always stood out. He was larger than life, yet humanistic in all his faults.
Over the last few years he has attracted some media attention due to his rare form of Pancreatic Cancer, and the liver transplant he has in 2009. While it is disappoint that the world has lost an inspiring leader, it is good to know he is no longer suffering.
The end of an era, ladies and gentlemen, and the fall of a giant. Steve Jobs, you will be missed.
